Raised in Stella Adler’s school of acting, I developed my craft to create characters adding backgrounds, stories and enriching the lives of the characters beyond the written page. I have been educated in Stanislavski, Shakespeare, classic and contemporary British and American plays, Broadway classics and musicals, Brecht, Pinter and even Aristophanes. I even studied with the infamous, Uta Hagen and have taken classes at Second City. I am still studying, perfecting my craft. Do passionate artists really ever stop learning or lose the desire to learn more? I hope not. I won't. I know that.
I did loads of musical theater growing up. Yes, I am an actress who can sing and dance. I took ballet, modern, tap, and jazz lessons. Not a lot of them…just the basics. I am best on a dance-floor freestyle.
I am an actress who can sing. My raspy, voice, which I can project with ease (but I prefer a mic) compares to the sounds of Julie London and Lauren Bacall. Cabaret style lights up with my torch singing as I adore performing the old standards. (who doesn't?) As a character actress, my singing voice changes with ease.
I love to perform drama. My flair for the darker characters blends well with my deep resonating voice and powerful, dominating size. Witches, warriors, bitches and screwed-up people are ideal casting matches. I can be really scary.
At heart, I am a comedian. I am not a comedian who tells jokes. I am a character actress who knows how to be funny and what comedy timing means. I have honed this craft.
I am a businesswoman. I take my profession very seriously. I have had my eye on the ball since day one and it doesn't look like I am going to swerve from this intention any time soon. I come with experience and professionalism.
